About
This site is a clinical reference tool for comparing current professional-society guidance on managing GLP-1 receptor agonists in the perioperative period. It is designed to help clinicians quickly see where major US organizations agree or differ on holding, continuing, or individualizing therapy before surgery or endoscopy.
What this site covers
The comparison includes position statements and guidance from anesthesia, gastroenterology, and surgical societies. Each card summarizes the society's current stance, the date of its guidance, the procedure types it addresses, and a short explanation of the recommendation. Click any card to open the full summary, source publication, and verification date.
Methodology
Sources are the most current published position statements, guidelines, and consensus documents from the included societies (ASA, AGA, ASGE, SPAQI, SAMBA, and ASMBS). Each entry records the publication date, stance (hold, continue, or individualize), and procedure type (surgery, endoscopy, or both). Card summaries condense the key recommendation from the primary publication; the full summary and source link in each card's detail view point to the original document. Content is reviewed and the last-reviewed date is updated whenever new guidance is published or existing guidance is revised. Recommendations are verified against the primary source before being posted. This site is an educational reference and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the organizations listed.
